Kate is a dedicated professional with over 8 years in franchising and 16 years of experience in the business sector with The Piper Group. Known for a strong commitment to community involvement, she believes in the power of local connections and strives to build a positive culture. With a passion for empowering others and fostering collaboration, Kate works tirelessly to create environments where both business owners and the community thrive.
Kate’s companies under The Piper Group banner include 24/7 Plus Fitness Gyms in Sunshine Coast, Brisbane & Townsville along with the event management arm of this company promoting fitness events across Queensland. Kate is also the 2024 recipient of the Franchise Council of Australia National and Queensland Franchise Community Advocate award.
Prior to her time in the franchise sector, she held a successful career spanning across a diverse range of organisations in Australia & internationally with a strong path in business operations & development, management, community engagement, event promotion, corporate partnerships & financial services.
In 2016, she furthered her engagement in the business community by accepting a position with the Chamber Projects Committee with the Townsville Chamber of Commerce. The CPC focuses to support future generations of business and aims to create commerce opportunities through a diverse range of projects.
In 2017 after 13 years in the finance sector, she transitioned full time to operating her 4 companies across varying industries including the fitness industry, event management, commercial maintenance along with women’s networking, empowerment & advocacy.
In 2018, she formally accepted the role of Captain of the Chamber Projects Committee and took on a board position with the Townsville Chamber of Commerce board and worked within these organisations, holding these roles through to 2020.
In 2020, she broadened her horizon yet again to further her engagement in the community and accepted the role of a Political Campaign Manager with the LNP for a State seat in Queensland and then continued working within the State Opposition team for several years to help create change for the region whilst simultaneously running her businesses across Queensland.
In conjunction with the above, she also consulted to a variety of local events & community committees across a broad range of sectors. With high-level experience across these operations, Kate has continued to recognize the importance of a working environment promoting teamwork, efficiency, profitability, accountability & mutual respect. This approach results in positive outcomes for internal and external clients through all business units.
Kate is a regular networker, guest speaker, and avid supporter of the next generation of entrepreneurs in our region. No goal is too large. She is a firm believer that there are no secrets to success. It's preparation, hard work, persistence & learning from failure.
