Opening Wednesday 11 March 2026, the new airport gym will deliver convenient fitness access for millions of travellers and airport workforce.

Opening Wednesday 11 March 2026, Anytime Fitness will open Australia’s first airport gym at Sydney Airport, marking a significant development for the country’s largest fitness network, and a development that expands the brand beyond traditional retail and residential catchments.

Located in arrivals at T1 International, the new 24/7 club brings Anytime Fitness’s signature accessibility into the country’s busiest transit hub, serving 40 million+ travellers annually and 30,000 airport staff. Whether it’s a quick pre‑flight or pre‑shift workout, or a post‑flight or post‑shift reset, the club is designed to support members navigating long flights, early starts and demanding shifts, addressing key wellbeing needs such as reducing stiffness, boosting circulation, easing stress and improving sleep.

The new purpose‑built, two‑level, 300‑square‑metre club features:

  • 24/7 access for early departures, late arrivals and shift workers.

  • Functional training zones ideal for mobility and recovery.

  • Premium Life Fitness and Hammer Strength equipment.

  • Two lifting platforms.

  • Premium showers and amenities designed for people on the go.

As part of the opening, Anytime Fitness has created three bespoke ‘Fit to Fly’ workouts, developed by Anytime Fitness trainers and designed to support members at every stage of their travel journey. Available on the Anytime Fitness Australia YouTube channel and at the Sydney Airport club, the pre‑flight routine boosts circulation and prepares the body for long periods of sitting without causing fatigue, while the post‑flight session restores mobility, activates key muscle groups and resets the body after landing. The third workout – an “Inflight Menu” – includes simple seat‑based movements and offers quick ways to stay mobile mid‑air when tightness or slow circulation starts to set in.

Combined with reciprocal access to more than 600 clubs across Australia and over 5,500 worldwide, Anytime Fitness is committed to keeping members moving wherever they travel.

Simon Thompson, Anytime Fitness Australia Managing Director, said the opening of the Sydney Airport club brought the brand’s ‘anytime, anywhere’ promise to life.

“The launch of our club at Sydney Airport reflects our strategic commitment to delivering accessible fitness solutions wherever our members live, work and travel. As Australia’s most welcoming and inclusive fitness network, we’re proud to support travellers and airport teams with a space designed to move, recharge and prioritise wellbeing. This initiative represents a significant milestone for our brand and the broader fitness industry, setting a new benchmark for convenience-led fitness.”

Gail Taylor, Sydney Airport General Manager Retail, said the new gym would enhance the traveller experience while supporting the airport workforce.

“The new Anytime Fitness Sydney Airport club provides travellers and airport workers with a convenient, purpose‑built space to prioritise their wellbeing within T1 International Arrivals. This initiative reflects our commitment to elevating the airport experience by creating a destination focused on movement, recovery and convenience.”
