The Franchise Council of Australia (FCA) has announced the triumph of its recent delegation's visit to Canberra, citing constructive discussions and significant acknowledgments from key policymakers.
During the two and a half-day visit, FCA representatives engaged in fruitful dialogues with prominent figures such as the Minister for Small Business, the Hon Julie Collins, the Minister for Industrial Relations, the Hon Tony Burke, and the Minister for Skills and Training, the Hon Brendan O’Connor. Additionally, meetings were held with representatives from the office of the Deputy Leader of the Opposition, the Hon Sussan Ley, and Shadow Treasurer, the Hon Angus Taylor.
Of notable significance was the commitment expressed by Minister Julie Collins towards reducing regulatory burdens, emphasizing the largely satisfactory state of the Franchising Code of Conduct. The Minister's assurance of public disclosure regarding the Independent Review of the Franchise Code's recommendations within the coming months provided further reassurance to the delegation.
Moreover, discussions underscored the crucial role franchising plays in both social and economic spheres, with policymakers acknowledging its contributions.
The FCA expressed gratitude towards delegation members representing various sectors within franchising for their articulate representation in Canberra.
Looking forward, the FCA reiterated the importance of ongoing engagement and encouraged stakeholders to contribute positive news stories showcasing franchising's community contributions.
